Milling machines from Promash
The metal milling machine does what the lathe and the drilling machine cannot: flat surfaces, slots, pockets, precise holes in an exact place. At Promash there are 36 Optimum milling machines with prices from €1,350 to €22,740 (the larger ones are on request), a CNC milling machine and 143 milling accessories — vices, rotary tables, collets, holders.
What types of metal milling machines are there?
We offer milling machines in three types: small drilling-milling machines with a tilting head for workshops, universal milling machines with an ISO 40 taper for production, and CNC milling machines for series machining. The difference is in the size of the table, the travel along the axes, the power and how automated the work is.
Small drilling-milling machines
The MH and MB series — from the OPTImill MH 20V for €2,062.80 to the MB 4PV. The MH 20V has a 510 × 180 mm table, a frequency inverter with a digital display and a head that tilts ±60°. The MB 4 drills up to Ø32 mm and has an 800 mm table. Details are in the universal milling machines.
Universal milling machines with ISO 40
The OPTImill MT 50 has a vertical and a horizontal spindle with an ISO 40 taper and a 1,000 mm table. The MF 2-B has a universal head that rotates ±90° and tilts ±45°. These are machines for machine shops and toolrooms.
CNC milling machines
The CNC milling machine OPTImill F 150E has a 16-position tool changer and Siemens drives. It is available on request.
How to choose a metal milling machine?
Start with the largest workpiece: the table length and the X-axis travel show how long a workpiece you machine without re-clamping. Then look at the power, the spindle taper and the power supply. A small 230 V milling machine is for a workshop; for everyday work with steel you need a heavier machine.
- Table and X travel: from a 510 mm table and 280 mm travel for the MH 20V to a 1,000 mm table and 580 mm travel for the MT 50, and for the MF 2-B and MT 60 the table is over 1,200 mm.
- Power: from 0.75 kW for the small MH to 1.5 kW for the MB 4 and MT 50, and more for the larger models.
- Power supply: the MH models are for 230 V, the MB and MT — for 400 V.
- Weight: a heavier milling machine vibrates less. The MH 20V is 94 kg, the MT 50 — 820 kg.
Comparison of popular models
Five metal milling machines — from a small workshop machine to a universal milling machine for the shop. Compare the table length and X travel with your longest workpiece; prices include VAT.

What is a metal milling machine used for?
The metal milling machine is used for face milling, cutting slots and keyways, milling pockets, steps and contours, and drilling and boring holes at exact coordinates. It is used in machine shops, toolrooms, maintenance and repair, prototypes and model making.
The accuracy of the milling machine also depends on workholding. A good vice, a rotary table and a collet chuck are sometimes as important as the machine itself — you will find them in the milling accessories.

Why buy a milling machine from Promash?
The milling machine is a machine that is set up and serviced. You buy it from the official importer, get commissioning and know whom to turn to for service and accessories.
- Official importer for Bulgaria and partner of Stürmer Maschinen.
- Commissioning and training.
- Warranty and post-warranty service.
- Machines over €25,000 — on request; ask for a custom quote.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a metal milling machine cost?
The most affordable is the OPTImill MH 20V for €2,062.80. Milling machines with an 800 mm table, such as the MB 4, start from €3,670.80. Universal milling machines go up to €22,740, and the larger ones are on request. Prices include VAT.
Is there a metal milling machine for 230 V?
Yes — the models of the MH series, for example the MH 20V, MH 22V and MH 25PV, run on 230 V.
Can I drill with the milling machine?
Yes. The small drilling-milling machines drill and mill; the MB 4 drills up to Ø32 mm in steel.
Can I see the milling machine before buying?
In the showroom in Plovdiv, 47 Kuklensko Shose Blvd, there are over 200 machines. We are open Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00. Call +359 882 477 388 in advance.
