The Optimum OPTIturn TU 3008 lathe is a high-precision machine built for the reliable machining of metal workpieces in service shops, toolrooms and production companies. The hardened main spindle runs in adjustable precision tapered roller bearings of class P5 , and the large spindle bore of Ø 38 mm allows a wider range of workpieces to be machined. The machine has automatic longitudinal and cross feed , a lead screw for thread cutting or automatic longitudinal turning , and a set of change gears for thread cutting included in the standard scope of delivery.

Additional convenience is provided by the four-way tool holder , the tailstock adjustable by ±5 mm for taper turning , the quill with 0.02 mm fine scale and the slide handwheels with 0.04 / 0.01 mm fine scale . The lathe cuts 18 metric threads and 21 inch threads , which makes it a universal solution for various tasks.
