Metalworking machines from Promash

Metalworking machines are the heart of every metal workshop: with them you cut, drill, turn, mill and grind. At Promash there are over 500 metalworking machines from Optimum, Metallkraft and Holzkraft — from a €254 bench drilling machine to production lathes and milling machines — and over 1,500 accessories for them. We are the official importer of Stürmer Maschinen for Bulgaria.

What metalworking machines are there?

Metalworking machines are grouped by the operation they perform: drilling, turning, milling, cutting, grinding and sharpening. Each group has models for a hobby workshop, for a service station and for production — the difference is in size, power and level of automation.

Drilling machines

Bench, pillar, magnetic and radial drilling machines — 82 models with a capacity of 13 to 55 mm. Bench models start at €254.

Metal lathes

65 Optimum lathes — from the TU 1503V benchtop lathe for €1,126.80 to bed lathes with 3,050 mm between centres, plus a CNC lathe.

Milling machines

Small 230 V milling machines from €1,350, universal milling machines with ISO 40 and a CNC milling machine with automatic tool change.

Metal cutting machines

76 band saws from €198 and 50 Metallkraft metal circular saws, with roller conveyors, blades and discs for them.

Belt grinders and bench grinders

OPTIgrind belt and disc grinders, 45 bench grinders and polishing machines, machines for sharpening drills, knives and tools.

Grinding machines

OPTIgrind GT surface grinding machines with a magnetic table from 200 × 500 to 400 × 800 mm.

How to choose a metalworking machine?

Start from the parts you will make, not from the machine. Rotational parts — shafts, bushings, threads — need a lathe. Flat surfaces and slots — a milling machine. Holes — a drilling machine. Cutting to length — a band saw or a circular saw. Then choose the size according to the largest workpiece and check the power supply in the workshop.

  • Workpiece size: swing over the bed and distance between centres for the lathe, table and X travel for the milling machine, drilling capacity for the drilling machine.
  • 230 or 400 V: many benchtop machines run on 230 V; large lathes, milling machines and circular saws — on 400 V.
  • Workload: for hobby and repair a benchtop machine is enough; for production look at heavier models with a digital readout or automatic feed.
  • Manual or CNC: CNC machines are for production runs; for single parts and repair a universal machine is more flexible.

What are metalworking machines used for?

Metalworking machines are used in mechanical engineering, metalworking, machine repair and maintenance, car repair shops, the production of metal structures and tools, in training workshops and in hobby workshops. With them new parts are made and worn ones are restored.

A typical metal workshop starts with a band saw, a drilling machine, a bench grinder and a lathe, and as it grows adds a milling machine and larger machines. With us you can build the whole line from one supplier, with the same service and accessories.
