Types of wood sanders

The catalogue has three groups: combination belt and disc sanders, KSO edge belt sanders with a long belt and a cylindrical (drum) sander for calibrating boards.

Combination belt and disc sanders

BTS 150 has a 150 mm disc and a 915 × 100 mm belt — for €227. BTS 250 has a 250 mm disc and a 1220 × 150 mm belt. Holzkraft BTS 201 has a 305 mm disc, a 1220 × 150 mm belt and a 1.5 kW motor. With these machines you sand edges, faces, curved parts and small pieces.

KSO edge belt sanders

KSO 750, KSO 790, KSO 850 and KSO 1500 F are belt sanders with a long horizontal belt — from 2010 to 2600 mm — and a longitudinal table of 750 to 850 mm. They sand edges, frames and long workpieces. The belt speed is 11–16.3 m/s.

Cylindrical sander

The ZSM 405 sands boards up to 405 mm wide and up to 130 mm thick with automatic feed from 0.5 to 3 m/min — for an exact top thickness.

How to choose a wood belt sander?

Choose according to the size of the workpieces: small and curved — a combination belt and disc sander; long edges and frames — a KSO; wide boards with an exact thickness — a cylindrical sander. Then check the power supply and extraction.

• Belt size. 915 × 100 mm for the BTS 150, 1220 × 150 mm for the BTS 250 and BTS 201, up to 2600 × 150 mm for the KSO 850 and KSO 1500 F.
• Disc. 150, 250 or 305 mm on the combination models.
• Tilt. On the BTS 201 the table tilts from -15° to 45°, and the sanding module from 0° to 90°.
• Power supply. The combination sanders are 230 V, the KSO are offered in 230 V and 400 V.
• Extraction. The outlet is 100 mm on the KSO and 120 mm on the BTS 150 and BTS 250. Sanding is the dustiest operation — connect an extractor.
