TIG welding machines from Promash

The TIG welding machine (WIG) welds with a tungsten electrode in argon — quietly, without spatter and with the most beautiful seam. That is why it is the choice for stainless steel, thin parts, tubes and aluminium. At Promash there are 7 Schweisskraft TIG machines with prices from €695 to €10,668 incl. VAT, all 230 V.

Types of TIG welding machines

TIG machines are divided into DC — for steel, stainless steel and copper, and AC/DC — which also weld aluminium. The PULSE models have a pulsed current that controls the heat on thin material.

TIG DC

EASY-TIG 181DC has 10–180 A and welds from 0.5 to 8 mm — for €695. EASY TIG 201 DC PULSE and CRAFT TIG 201 DC P PULSE have 5–200 A and up to 10 mm. HIGH-TIG 230 DC PLUS has 4–230 A and gas or water cooling of the torch.

TIG AC/DC — for aluminium

EASY TIG 201 AC/DC PULSE (10–170 A), CRAFT-TIG 201 AC/DC P PULSE (5–200 A, supply 90–275 V) and HIGH-TIG 230 AC/DC PLUS (4–230 A) weld aluminium and its alloys.

How to choose a TIG machine?

The first question is whether you will weld aluminium. If so — AC/DC. If you work only with steel and stainless steel — DC. Then choose according to the current and the functions: pulse for thin material, water cooling for long work at high current.

  • DC or AC/DC. DC for steel and stainless steel, AC/DC for aluminium too.
  • Current. From 170–180 A on the EASY models to 230 A on the HIGH-TIG.
  • Minimum current. 4–5 A on the PULSE and HIGH-TIG models — for very thin material.
  • Thickness. From 0.5 mm to 8–10 mm.
  • Stick welding. Most models also weld MMA with 1.6–4 mm electrodes.

What is TIG welding used for?

TIG machines are used for stainless steel railings and vessels, food industry equipment, pipelines, aluminium frames and parts, casting repair, and fine and visible seams. Where the seam is visible or must be gas-tight, TIG has no equal.

After TIG welding stainless steel, the seam is cleaned of discolouration with the CLEANO electrochemical metalworking devices, and the tungsten electrodes are sharpened with the EG grinders.

A well-sharpened electrode is half of a good TIG seam. The EG 5 sharpens electrodes from 1.6 to 5 mm at an angle of 15 to 60°, and the EG 1 — from 1 to 4 mm, with a diamond wheel and a stepless angle. This way the tip is the same every time, the arc is stable and the seam is even. For argon you will need a cylinder with a pressure regulator, which is bought separately.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a TIG machine cost?

From €695 for the EASY-TIG 181DC to €3,780 for the HIGH-TIG 230 AC/DC PLUS, incl. VAT.

Which TIG machine is for aluminium?

The AC/DC models: EASY TIG 201 AC/DC PULSE, CRAFT-TIG 201 AC/DC P PULSE and HIGH-TIG 230 AC/DC PLUS.

What is WIG?

WIG is the German name for TIG welding — the same method with a tungsten electrode in inert gas.

Do I need 400 V?

No, all TIG machines in the category are 230 V.

Can I see the machine?
