Presses from Promash

The metal press is the machine with which bearings go in and out without hammer blows, bushings are driven in accurately and bent shafts are straightened. At Promash there are 66 presses with prices from €141.60 to €24,900 — Unicraft hydraulic presses from 10 to 50 tonnes and Optimum manual arbor presses.

What types of metal presses are there?

The presses we offer are of two types: hydraulic, where the force comes from a hydraulic cylinder with a hand pump, and manual arbor presses, where the force comes from a lever and a rack. The hydraulic ones deliver from 10 to 50 tonnes, the arbor presses less force but very fast work.

Hydraulic presses

The Unicraft WPP series — 10, 15, 20, 30 and 50 tonnes. They have a pressure gauge to show the pressure and piston cylinders with a built-in spring. The larger models have a two-stage hand pump, and on the WPP 50 BPF TOP the drive can also be a pneumatic lever.

Manual presses

The Optimum DDP 10, DDP 20, DDP 30 and DDP 50 arbor presses have a grey cast iron body and a base that can be set in four positions. They are intended for bearings, mandrels, bushings, spindles and pins. The DDP 30, for example, takes a workpiece up to 310 mm high.

How to choose a press?

Choose a press according to the force you need and the size of the workpieces. For small bushings, pins and bearings on a workbench, a manual arbor press is enough. For shaft bearings, straightening and larger workpieces, take a hydraulic press of 15–30 tonnes. 50 tonnes is for heavy repair and production.

  • Pressing force: 10, 15, 20, 30 or 50 tonnes for the hydraulic ones.
  • Width between the beams: from 340 mm for the WPP 10 TE to 730 mm for the WPP 50 E — how wide a workpiece fits in the frame.
  • Working range: up to about 1,000 mm for the large models — important for long shafts.
  • Space: the arbor presses and the WPP 10 TE are compact; the 50-tonne ones are floor-standing machines.

What is a metal press used for?

The press is used for driving in and removing bearings, bushings and pins, for straightening shafts and profiles, for bending small parts and for press-fitting during assembly. It is used in car repair shops, repair workshops, agriculture, machine maintenance and small-scale production.

The arbor press is indispensable when many identical operations with little force are needed — for example driving in bushings in a series. The hydraulic one takes on the heavy work. Many workshops have both.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a metal press cost?

Manual arbor presses are from €141.60 to €1,326. Hydraulic ones — from €334.80 for the WPP 10 TE to €3,802.80 for the WPP 50 BPF TOP. Prices include VAT.

Manual or hydraulic press?

The manual arbor press is for small workpieces and fast work with little force. The hydraulic one is for shaft bearings, straightening and anything that needs tonnes.

How many tonnes of press do I need for bearings?

It depends on the size of the bearing and the fit. For a car repair shop 20–30 tonnes is most often sought; if you are not sure, call us.

Can I see the press?

In the showroom in Plovdiv, 47 Kuklensko Shose Blvd, Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00. Call +359 882 477 388 in advance.
