Lifting magnets from Promash
The lifting magnet grips a steel sheet, plate or shaft with a permanent magnet — without electricity, without batteries and without clamps that scratch the material. You switch it on with a hand lever, lift with the hoist and switch it off with the same lever. At Promash there are 6 Unicraft PLM lifting magnets with prices from €234 to €2,399 incl. VAT.
The models are for 100 kg (PLM 101 and PLM 102), 300 kg (PLM 301), 600 kg, 1000 kg and 2000 kg (PLM 2001). For round material the load capacity is halved — the PLM 601 holds a 600 kg sheet, but a 300 kg shaft. The manufacturer states a tested safety factor of 3.5.
The lifting magnet hangs on the hook of an electric hoist or crane and is the fastest way to feed sheet metal to a guillotine shear or a welding table.
Frequently asked questions
Does the lifting magnet need electricity?
No. The PLM models have a permanent magnet and are switched on and off with a hand lever.
How much does the magnet lift with a tube or shaft?
About half of the rated load: for example the PLM 1001 — 1000 kg of flat material and 500 kg of round.
